Ramblings On…Episode 7×15: Repo Man (spoilers)

2012 | Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural

Well, we knew we were in for it! With an amazingly funny episode that made us laugh and scream and clap my hands with joy, we knew that the brotherly fun, laughter and glitter would be coming to an end. Darkness is coming for Winchesters, and we just knew it was only a matter of time before everything came tumbling down. This episode was written by Ben Edlund, who happens to be one of my favorite scriptwriters, well, ever. Darin Morgan is up there too, but that isn’t important right now. If that Jeffery/demon talk reminded you of the Ruby/demon talk in “Malleus Maleficarum”…there’s a reason for that! And the Dean torture of Jeffrey in the beginning was very reminiscent of “On The Head Of A Pin”…Well, Ben gave us another episode with a ton of insight into our boys’ present state of mind. Repo Man was directed by someone new to Supernatural, but definitely not new to directing, Thomas J. Wright. Thomas is also not new to directing Jensen, he directed a ha More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×13: Slice Girls (Spoilers)

2012 | Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural, Videos

promo007_606_403_100

If I said I wasn’t a teensy bit concerned after learning the plot of Friday’s episode…I would be lying. After a magnificent episode “Time After Time”, we were smacked across the face with “Dean get’s laid BUT he winds up with a daughter”. This had me slightly freaking. From watching and reading various interviews with Sera Gamble as well as the cast, I was confident it would work out, but I could still hear that Lost In Space robot saying “Danger Wil Robinson” in my ear. Sera has said many times that the show was about Sam and Dean. I didn’t think she would change that by adding in a daughter to the mix, so I figured the girl would somehow be gotten rid of by the end…But still, I understood fan angst because I had some too… Sam and Dean defeated Chronos in the last episode, and now they are back to nothing going on with Dick Roman. The lack of something to do has brought Sam and Dean back to grief mode over the loss of Bobby. Sam tries to busy him More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×12: Time After Time (spoilers)

2012 | Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural, Uncategorized

“Everybody loses everybody and then one day BOOM your number’s up. But at least you’re making a difference. So enjoy it while it lasts, kid, because hunting’s the only clarity you’re gonna find in this life. That makes you luckier than most.” I loved this episode. As much as I loved Season Six’s “Frontierland”, this episode trumps that one by, well, a lot in my opinion. Written by Robbie Thompson (who also wrote this season’s “Slash Fiction”), and directed by Phil Sgriccia, “Time After Time” has to be hands down my favorite episode of this season, and among my favorite episodes of the series. The episode was a perfect storm of casting, costumes, setting, music and storytelling! A little warning–I have gone a little nuts with the pictoral representation of the episode on my review. Thank you CW, and specifically Winchester Family Business for the awesome stills. In “Time AFter Time”, Sam and Dean find out about a new case from an unexpect More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×10: Death’s Door (Spoilers)

2011 | 2011, Editorial, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural, Uncategorized

I’m sorry I am so far behind on writing this review! Lots of real life stuff was taking up my time. If you’re interested in my ramblings on that, check out my personal blogs. Truthfully, I have found this episode very difficult to write about. Such an amazing episode, and yet, well, Bobby! John buying the farm in the first episode of Season Two didn’t really bother me much. Sure, it was sad losing Jeffery Dean Morgan, but I was never a fan of John Winchester. I hated the way he treated Dean. I hated the wedge he drove between Sam and Dean. A lot of people love John though. A friend of mine actually commented that John was a real guy’s guy. Yes, this friend is actually a guy. He said that he liked that the writers had the courage to make John a dick… But Bobby is another story. I loved Bobby. I loved how he knew how to get Dean out of his shell. He knew how to make Dean face his issues, to realize that he needed to take care of himself too, not just worry abo More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×08: Season Seven, Time For A Wedding (Spoilers)

2011 | 2011, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural

So how many of us guessed correctly about who was going to be Sammy’s bride in this episode? And how many of us guessed correctly how she did it? Setting aside that most of us who have a slightly obsessive love for the show would have figured out both of these things sans the aid of any spoiler content from people who were “in the know” early, I found this episode highly enjoyable. “Season Seven, Time For a Wedding” was written by Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loftlin who have written some really amazing episodes! Most recently, they wrote “The Girl Next Door” and “Frontierland”. The episode was directed by Tim Andrew. This was his first Supernatural episode, but he has directed a few episodes of Teen Wolf and Son of the Beach. Neither show have I watched, but I did enjoy his attention to facial expressions in this episode. I would also like to know who was responsible for all the sweater usage! I have never seen so many sweaters used in a Supernatural episode. My fa More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×06: Slash Fiction (Spoilers)

2011 | 2011, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural

I’m sorry I’m getting this review out so late! Unfortunately we were without power from Saturday through Wednesday…which made writing very difficult, unless I wanted to battle for a plug at Barnes and Noble or somewhere else. Sadly, my laptop is “old” now, so the battery doesn’t hold a charge anymore. I will also be working on the review for “Shut Up, Dr. Phil” soon too. First ChiCon then a lack of power! I will catch up though. I decided to write my review of “Slash Fiction” before “Shut Up, Dr. Phil” because, quite frankly, I LOVED “Slash Fiction”! My “Shut Up, Dr. Phil” review will also include some of my set watching, as I saw scenes film while I was in Vancouver. But moving along…Slash Fiction is definitely one of my favorite episodes in a long time. Leviathan!Sam and Leviathan!Dean were great, there were some great Sam and Dean moments, and we got a new ‘ship– Jody and Bobby! But I’m getting ahead of myself… “Slash Ficti More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…going to Chicago: ChiCon 2011 (mildly spoilery)

2011 | 2011, Conventions, Creation Entertainment, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Ramblings On, Richard Speight Jr., Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural

I made the decision to go to Chicago after all right before Vancouver, but since I had to spend so much getting to and being in Vancouver, I wanted to go to Chicago as cheaply as possible…I went Silver to Vancouver, but Chicago I went General Admission. I also took the train to Chicago instead of going by plane. I’m sure since my coach train tickets came to just under $160.00 round trip, it was a cheaper way to go by train than by plane, but I admit I didn’t even look at the rates to O’Hare from Bradley. I wanted a different style of travel first off—I have never taken a trip by train like this! Twenty hours traveling by the Great Lakes! Also, I had quite a bit of apprehension about going on another plane ride…I was so nervous going to and from Vancouver! As far as train travel goes, the seats are bigger than on the plane. You can also move around on a train. And actually have to if you want to eat dinner or get snacks or coffee. The only real issue besides the she More After The Cut...

Ramblings On…Episode 7×02 “Hello, Cruel World” (Spoilers)

2011 | 2011, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Ramblings On, Season 7, Spoilers, Supernatural

What has always amazed me about this show is that just when you think things can’t get any more horrific for the Winchesters, just when you think the writers can’t possibly have any new ideas, you get thrown something that lets you know that there is no end to what can be done…and that the writers somehow have the ability to do all of this without jumping the “shark tank”. I know some fans were skeptical about the show after season five. I feel those fans didn’t give season six the fair chance it deserved…but season six is over now, and season seven has come on stronger, bigger and badder than we have seen in a long time! In my own humble opinion, the show “feels” more like the first three seasons…the show I originally fell in love with. I’ve been realizing this over these last two episodes, but it really hit me when I was talking with a friend about Dean this season. He seems more like the old Dean from the first three seasons, but more mature, more seaso More After The Cut...
